Neon and Sparkles
The preview for the Knitscene Accessories issue came out on Friday, and I have two patterns in it! And one has neon and one has sparkle so it’s totally me. It’s a really great issue with so many great patterns, I can’t wait to get a copy!
The Lightning Kercheif is knit with Tosh Merino Light in a dark grey with neon yellow stripes. Pretty awesome, huh? There is a light chevron detail at the bottom which gives it a bit of a wavy edge. I love this yarn. I am halfway throught knitting myself one. Everytime I pick up a skein of Tosh Merino Light I can’t believe there is no silk in there. It has that glow. You can find it here on Ravelry.
The second one is the Supernova Cowl, which is a double twist, traveling stitch cowl with a sequin thread yarn held along with the main yarn for some extra glitz. Pretty fun. I love knitting along with sequin thread! Check it out on Ravelry.
Other than that I’ve been working away on stuff. It was my birthday yesterday. We all went off to the carnival down the road and ate carnival food and watched the kids go on rides. It was pretty fun! And my mom and sister got me the best neon yellow nail polish ever (Illamasqua Rare). Seriously. It’s the only one I’ve used that actually works. I got myself some Americo Cotton Flamme in Dijon and Charcoal Grape to knit a Fiona all Grown Up. I’ve been looking for something to knit with the Dijon since it came into the shop. It’s such an amazing yellow. When I saw this pattern, I knew it was meant to be because I wear tops like that all the time. I love the slubby texture of the Cotton Flamme.
