Sandra Sweater - from Knitscene

I have a sweater pattern in the Fall 2012 issue of Knitscene. It’s called the Sandra Sweater. It’s knit out of Manos Rittenhouse, which is such a nice worsted weight wool. I really liked the yarn, it’s a simple worsted weight that’s super soft and kettle dyed, so it’s not quite a solid colour. I am a big fan of subtle kettle dyed and heathery worsted weight yarns, you can knit anything out of them. Like a sweater! The sweater has some cute details in it. The front panel is made up of twisted stitches that look like cables, but aren’t. Faux cables is probably the word I am looking for. I love the front panel. There are some contrast stripes in the ribbing on the cuffs, bottom and neckline, because you know I have trouble knitting in just one colour. The 3/4 length sleeves are princess style, which are my favorite kind of sleeves. Perfect to wear tiaras and drink tea with, right? Because that is how I like to spend my days. Anyways, you can find it on Ravelry here.

It’s currently #2 on the Hot Right Now list on Ravelry. Pretty cool.

#2!

In other news, I am just wrapping up my ebook. I am doing the final edits and putting everything together. It should be up in just over a week, which is so exciting. There are 3 mitten patterns, 1 hat, 1 mitt, a shawl and a cowl. Pretty neat. For now, you should join my brand new Ravelry group where I will be giving away some kits for the patterns after they come out! Who doesn’t love free yarn, am I right? Also, this week I am going to see my favorite band ever, The Promise Ring which is all of my late teen dreams come true. Seriously. I am really excited. I think I’ve said the word excite in many forms in this post. And all the driving time there means lots of knitting time for me!

Other than that I’ve been gearing up for fall at Wolseley Wool, which is my favorite knitting season. The yarns and books and magazines that come out for fall are always the most stunning. I can’t wait to see all the yarn we get in! The hardest part will be deciding what to knit with first.
