Tour de Fleece Day 1
So I decided at the last minute to sign up for the Tour de Fleece. I just got a new spinning wheel and have way more fibre than I thought. I set some modest goals (I think) to spin 4 art yarns and 1 cable plied sock yarn. Yesterday I did some warming up with some fuchsia polwarth I dyed at the percentage dyeing workshop I went to last fall. I corespun it and then plied it with some coordinating sparkly crochet thread. It’s almost a bubble wrap, but I did not autowrap it while corespinning. Instead, I overspun it so that it would not come undone while plying. Theres about 35 yards there. It’s hard to capture the sparkle! Today I want to work on some superwash merino singles. I need to practice thin singles to work up to the sock yarn I want to make.
